Bischofsreut

BISCHOFSREUT
300th BIRTHDAY: OCTOBER, 2005

In the year 1705, Bischofsreut was created by order of the Bishop of Passau. The early colonists had to clear away the forest, and create farms out of the Bavarian Forest. The new town sat on the "Golden Climb" (Goldenen Stieg), the road from Salzburg to Prague, and lay almost at the border of Bavaria and Bohemia.

Now on the 300th Anniversary of the creation of Bischofsreut, the town cordially invites all former citizens and decendants to return for this special celebration.
